Behind the Song

The story behind Golden Material actually starts the night before a cross-country race.

I remember lying awake, unable to sleep, thinking about the race ahead. When I woke up, I had the beginnings of a song running through my head.

What started as a little bit of pre-race inspiration turned into something much bigger: a song about believing in yourself, recognizing how far you’ve come, and remembering that you’re capable of more than you think.

Running has always been a big part of my life, and it’s funny how this song has come full circle. Even now, I sometimes find myself repeating its lyrics like a mantra while I’m out on a run.

I hope Golden Material can be that same little reminder for someone else, whether they’re chasing a finish line, a dream, or simply trying to believe in themselves a little more.
